Aera Technology Named a Leader in the 2026 IDC MarketScape for Decision Intelligence Platforms
We’re excited to share that Aera Technology has been positioned in the Leaders Category in the 2026 IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Decision Intelligence Platforms.
This marks the second time IDC MarketScape has positioned Aera in the Leaders Category in this market, beginning with the inaugural assessment in 2024. Being named a Leader across both evaluations is in our view a meaningful signal about the durability of the approach we’ve taken, in a market where the underlying technology has advanced substantially.
Reading an IDC MarketScape Graph
For the purposes of this analysis, IDC divided potential key measures for success into two primary categories: capabilities and strategies.
Positioning on the y-axis reflects the vendor’s current capabilities and menu of services and how well aligned the vendor is to customer needs. The capabilities category focuses on the capabilities of the company and product today, here and now. Under this category, IDC analysts will look at how well a vendor is building/delivering capabilities that enable it to execute its chosen strategy in the market.
Positioning on the x-axis or strategies axis indicates how well the vendor’s future strategy aligns with what customers will require in three to five years. The strategies category focuses on high-level decisions and underlying assumptions about offerings, customer segments, and business and go-to-market plans for the next three to five years.
The size of the individual vendor markers in the IDC MarketScape represent the market share of each individual vendor within the specific market segment being assessed.
What the Assessment Notes About Aera
Hybrid engine orchestration. The platform combines deterministic analytical, machine learning, and graph engines with agentic reasoning, allowing high-volume repetitive decisions to run on cost-efficient deterministic logic while reserving generative reasoning for complex, nonrecurring problems.
Decision memory and the policy loop. Every structured and situational decision is captured into a decision ledger, enriched with context, and used to generate policy recommendations, closing the loop between how decisions are made and how policies are subsequently set and enforced.
Model flexibility and access options. Customers can choose among several supported large language models or connect proprietary models, and end users can interact through an inbox, conversational interface, voice, mobile app, or API, depending on the role.
The assessment suggests organizations consider Aera when seeking a platform that pairs high-volume, deterministic decision automation with an expanding layer of agentic reasoning and a persistent decision-memory/policy loop. It is better suited to large enterprises seeking multiple decision workflows.
What We Believe This Means for Enterprises
The IDC MarketScape evaluates vendors, but we believe it also documents a shift: decision intelligence is moving out of experimentation and into enterprise scale. That shift changes what enterprises need from a solution. Repetitive decisions have to be automated, complex ones have to be augmented, and both have to be governed with equal rigor.
That is the requirement we built for, and we believe it’s the reason the IDC MarketScape has positioned Aera in the Leaders Category for the second time. It’s also what we believe lets our customers scale decision making and realize value from it.
For teams evaluating this market, the value of the IDC MarketScape is less in where vendors land than in the criteria used to place them. To us, the framework sets out what independent analysts believe separates a viable decision intelligence platform from an experiment, and that makes it a useful starting point for building your own evaluation.

IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Decision Intelligence Platforms 2026 Vendor Assessment, #US54118426, September 2026.
IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of technology suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each supplier’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures supplier product, go-to-market and business execution in the short term. The Strategy score measures alignment of supplier strategies with customer requirements in a three-to-five-year timeframe. Supplier market share is represented by the size of the icons.
